The Star, Nick Pron : Judge wants review of file of criminal immigrant
Mickie Roan Beckford has been described as a career criminal, a man who has been in and out of jail 20 times in the 20 years since he first came to Canada from his native Jamaica.
And now a Toronto judge wants immigration officials to review the file of the crack addict who refuses to work and hasn't taken any medical treatment after being diagnosed with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
Even though immigration officials ordered his deportation two years ago, Beckford, 41, remained in the country pending an appeal, and kept up his life of crime, committing another 17 offences.
Beckford has "no genuine interest in dealing with his crack cocaine addiction" or finding a job, said the judge, adding Beckford once "candidly informed" his parole officer "he would not be interested in any job that would interfere with his eligibility for welfare."
Sigh.........................

..what worries me about the country is it takes the judicial system 20 years to see the obvious.
Talk about a hot potatoes. Visible minority, with HIV.
"Can't touch me"
Yes you have a perfect storm of PC pieties all in one case.
The poor guy is not a member of a privileged group. And deportations disproportionately target immigrants. Indeed, quite the bug soup of political correctness.
