U of T student to get apology for email - Hilarity Ensues!

Cabinet office at Queen's Park will apologize to job applicant who was referred to as `the ghetto dude'.

"Evon Reid, who is black, was waiting to hear about his application for a job with the Ontario government as a media analyst when he received the email Friday.

"This is the ghetto dude that I spoke to before," Aileen Siu, a cabinet office worker, wrote as she forwarded a query from Reid about the job to another person."

Gotta love those Liberals, our Moral Superiors, and not incidentally the creators of Multicult!

"What amuses me about the story is that the writer of the email is not white. This should highlight that racism is not restricted to those of European heritage, and that racism is not a two-way street, but a multi-lane superhighway."

I agree with the comment in general but am not willing to label Ms. Siu a racist because of it. I think what it more accurately highlights is that stupidity is a multi-lane highway;)

Still the collision of PC Pieties in this case has the potential for some good laughs.

A) A woman
B) A woman who is Asian
C) A woman who is Asian makes a stupid remark about a Black Man

I can see the blood on the floor now, let the Liberal/Left dissembling begin!

"Non-caucasian woman forced to make "ghetto dude" comment about black man because she herself is a victim of systemic abuse perpetrated by oppressive white male patriarchy in structurally racist Ontario Government - Mike Harris cuts to blame!

Update: 'Ghetto dude' gets personal apology from Premier

"Yesterday, Mr. McGuinty phoned Mr. Reid and "apologized for the completely unacceptable incident ... and he thanked Evon for having the courage to go public," said Chris Morley, a spokesman for Mr. McGuinty." Damn you Mike Harris!

Oops.

...C) A woman who is Asian makes a stupid remark about a Black Man...

Ouch!

I just have to bring this topic up because I am a black man and am very much in love with a Chinese woman who also loves me very much. The topic has to do with the hatred or racism that seems to exist between the Chinese and Blacks in America and China....

Good Gawd, no. Racism is definitely not confined to us bad white guys.

As Ayaan Hirsi Ali pointed out to A**h...er, I mean, Avi Lewis in his interview with her last month, racism is endemic in every race.

When I lived in Central America, it was clear that the Hispanics despised the Afro-Caribbeans and vice-versa. Throw in whites, and you had a toxic multi-culti stew. No one seemed to like or trust anyone.

Naturally, there were inter-racial marriages, and neighbours of different races/cultures often got on very well, one-on-one. But generally? Whites, Hispanics, Afro-Caribbeans? Not exactly cheerleaders for one another.

It ain't the people it's the program- Multicult is toxic, social engineering at it's worst.

Ah, come on. It IS the people. I had a good hearty laugh at the lovelorn chap you linked to, which might seem mean, but COME ON. The world is incredibly racist. The Arabic word for black person is, apparently, synonymous with "slave." As for some Chinese vs. everybody else, there is a famous play in Canada called, "Mom, Dad, I'm Living With A White Girl."

I really hope this story blows the lid off non-white racism because I've heard it all my life, and it's time to make it clear that white people are not the master villains of humanity.

I see your points and do agree with them, we are all xenophobes to one degree or other. However to clarify, Multicult reinforces the very isolation between comunites that it purports to resolve.

I thought the whole point of multiculturalism was inclusiveness...not separation and divisiveness.

I support, wholeheartedly multiculutralism in the arts.. perhaps it has a different meaning to us.

As for racism.. every race seems to look down upon other races. And that's kinda sad.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (3:21 PM)

Inclusiveness is the ideal of Multicult however in practice it has been shown to create divided loyalties - it does not foster assimiliation into the wider host culture.
