CALL OUT FOR PAPERS:
TITLE OF CONFERENCE: A THOUSAND AND ONE ISLAMOPHOBES: ADDRESSING HATE CRIMES FROM A YOUTH PERSPECTIVE
DATE: SATURDAY MAY 3, 2008 11:00 AM TO 4:00 PM
LOCATION: NORTH YORK MEMORIAL HALL, 5110 YONGE STREET
The Arab Community Centre of Toronto (http://www.arabcommunitycentre.com/) is currently coordinating a conference, which aims to address Islamophobia, and the issues surrounding this constructed term. The conference will particularly focus on Islamophobia's impact on youth from various communities, and how to build the capacity of youth to deal with discrimination (i.e. hate crimes).
We are currently accepting submissions for papers to be presented on topics listed below, personal narratives, or workshops. These presentations must be lead by youth; age group will be from 14-29. The target audience will be youth.
Presentations should be a minimum of 10 minutes long and maximum of 30 minutes. Workshops proposed can be up to 45 minutes.
Papers and Workshops on the following topics:
Defining Islamophobia and the history of Islamophobia/Orientalism
How to recognize hate crimes/definition of hate crimes (look at gendered experiences)
Research on hate crime incidents across the GTA (since 2001 in different communities)
Personal experiences in encountering hate crimes
Islamophobia and the Media (perpetuation of stereotypes)

One might think better of these turkeys if they were to include a workshop entitled, say, "Islamofascism: How 'moderate' Canadian Muslims can deal with extremists and assorted idiots like Mohamed Elmasry so that Muslims will come off seeming less like a bunch of terrorist sympathizers."
The thought never occurred to them, and why would it. The CHRC will cover for them.
Seems more a matter of "Islamo-nausia" from where I sit.
With all these paranoid theocratic fuktards gathered in one spot, we could rightful say this is the first conference of "Democraphobes" or "semitephobes" or "gynaphobes"....

well....a typically effete series of responses from the right on how to deal with these vermin.....i'm happy to say I have a game plan.....bigod I'll confound them and their knavish tricks.....even as i peck away here i'm planning how to bake a THOUSAND cream pies....the logistics of delivery to the appropriate victim i'll leave to youse foot soldiers.

Such as:
As the Muslim population has increased throughout Europe the incidents of rape have double or tripled. 8 out of ten rapes in Norway are committed by Muslim Males. Why are Muslim Males raping non-Muslim women at such an alarming rate?
Hate crimes against gays and Jews are at an all time high, again Muslim Males are the criminals/accused.
Degradation of women and the erosion of our our right to Equality is rapidly degrading back a decade. Again Muslim Males are the offenders visa vie Sharia Law.
Spousal and child abuse rampart in Islamic Cummunities by Muslim Males.
So Arab Males, gag me with a spoon, answer my questions why the unmitagated rise in violence and bigotry by Arab Muslim Males in civilized society?
More victim mentality from the the perpetually offended. I could care less what they want and what they demand. STFU and integrate into Canadian Culture.
