Jason Cherniak is very young and very silly.
I should prefer to leave him alone for these reasons, but the hysterical shrillness of his pubescent pieties has reached such a pitch that I'm finding it difficult to concentrate on other things.

I would add that there are two very good books to read on the subject:
Hitler's Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen
Backing Hitler: Consent and Coercion in Nazi Germany by Robert Gellately
(although I've only skimmed the first one, on my list to go back to...)
The one by Goldhagen starts, pretty relevant to this discussion: "...people have a tendency to make important, unacknowledged assumptions about Germans before and during the Nazi period...There are reasons to doubt the validy of such assumptions..."
The Publisher's Weekly provides the most relevant point: "Hitler's genocidal program of a "Final Solution" found ready accomplices in these ordinary Germans who, as Goldhagen persuasively argues, had absorbed a virulent, "eliminationist" anti-Semitism, prevalent as far back as the 18th century..."
That's the 1700s if my math is right. Two hundred years before there was a Nazi party.
Sorta provides some decent ammo for Kate's "state vs. party" argument...
By far the biggest fabricated controversy of the Spring. So desperate are the Cherniaks of the world.

Great put-down by EMG. I don't know whether it's desperation on Cherniak's part or, like Kinsella and company, just plain dim-wittedness. Oh, I know, both.

The louder and shriller a leftbot clone becomes is directly equivalent to the size of the lie they are covering up.
The genetics of the creed seldom show deviation in predictable behaviour.

Judging by the comments it seems that his yet another stubborn attempt at manipulation of emotional mind of readers of his Blog failed once again. It is no wonder that Jason might be upset. In World of free speech people pay much more attention to facts than they do to emotional significance of the words that are used to describe these facts.
Jason’s writing reminds me of the days when communism ideology was on last legs in Easter Europe. Jason Czerniak’s and Warren Kinsella’s calls to arms in defense of “Liberal values” are just carbon copies of articles that were appearing in state sanctioned newspapers all across Eastern Europe. I can still quite clearly remember their calls to arms in defense of “socialism” that nobody believed in anymore. Issues also seem identical; public demands for freedom of speech vigorously opposed by party apparatchiks and professional spin masters.
I think that it is about time that Jason Czerniak, and Warren Kinsella go back to selling used cars or modern equivalent of snake oil as current politics is more about substance than superficial impressions and primitive spin.

Anon it is amazing that these two- Kinsella and the Waterboy Cherniak consider themselves as would be political King makers - if they are the face of Liberalism we have nothing to fear;)
I think the lib bloggers are on melt down mode, they so badly want to smear Conservative Bloggers as Neo Nazis that they are going into la-la mode. It doesn't matter how many times us cons renounce Nazism the left hear what they choose to hear, what that is I have no idea. I often state a "Modern Liberal Mind" is a terrible waste. Like their esteemed Leader Dion the leftards are desperate to paint conservatives as evil doers out to destroy Canada. They constantly attack Conservative bloggers, smearing and libeling them without fear of consequences.
I think the time has come for Conservatives to stop sitting on our principles and start using Civil Law to defend our beliefs. Calling people Nazis or racist bigots is something the left has been doing with inpunity, it's time they were forced in court to "PROVE" Conservative Bloggers are the above. There is nothing shameful about stopping the left from slandering and smearing us Conservatives.
The evidence is the Liberal Blogs, go to them and all you see is Liberals attacking Conservative Bloggers on a personal level. The inferances, slurs and insults have crossed the libel line (in my opinion) several times. We need to stop treating them as special people and start holding them up to the standards they demand we uphold.
