Marni Soupcoff: The Canadian Human Rights Commission still doesn't get it

The Canadian Human Rights Commission still doesn’t get it. The problem isn’t the foul-mouthed sneering racists among us; it’s the CHRC.

As
Joseph Brean reported in this past Saturday’s Post, Ian Fine — senior general counsel and director-general of dispute resolution at the CHRC — began a recent interview by reading out loud some of the most spiteful bits of speech the CHRC has dealt with. The idea seemed to be that if the public could be made to realize how vile and mean the material before the CHRC can be, they would end their growing criticisms of the commission.

......

How can you not like someone named Marni? The Rest.

Jonathan Kay Agreeing with Warman - Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww. Well context is everything.

Jonathan Kay on Avi Lewis' latest Al Jazeera dispatch - Ok he makes up for that last indiscretion here, sorta.

I see in the comments that the HRC cult have resurrected the lie that Canada never had the right to free speech...just the same Bolshie argument that says we never had the right to property or to self defense or privacy of person.

This is distinctly foreign thought to British civil rights tradition. Both Britain and Canada have a long tradition of civil free speech and a free press, and the next time these yapping Bolsheviks mention it they should be directed to Blackstone's commentaries...

...in it they will find the delineated rights of the common Crown subject ...among them the right to property, the right to self preservation and the right to bear arms for that purpose... and free public commentary and public expression being essential to a free press restricted only by criminal slander.

Yeah shocking eh? Here you have been told by generations of socialist programmers you have no such rights, yet the patriarch od British commonlaw civil rights tells us these are the inherent "absolute" primary, and near absolute ancillary rights of the British subject.

This is what Blackstone said about free speech:

"The liberty of the press is indeed essential to the nature of a free state. Every free man has an undoubted right to lay what
sentiments he pleases before the public; to forbid this is to destroy the freedom of the press"

We have this right and section 26 of the charter says this right exists as an active right because it pre-dates the charter.

So next time you hear some deceiving crypto-fascist yipping off about us having no rights to free speech, tell him he's a liar.

Ah Yes, how nice of Jonathan Kay but how after the Lucy affair can we be assured Bill White is not Alex Lindner, Dann Dobson and/or various versions of Lucy?

The timing seemed odd and fortuituos!

Think after his (jk) back down he is not subscibing to a global conspiracy and nazis under every bed under duress?

Good Points all WLMR, I see a Mr. Ross has pretty much shut our little Ohara down.

A good point as well LS, there seems to be no shortage of CHRC false flags.

When I read the transcripts at FD I was gobbed smacked, in plain sight of the "Tribunal Judge" they appear to pull a bait and switch with the evidence against her. I thought it was illegal for the police to hand over personal information about a suspect when they investigate a possible crime. She hasn't been charged with a crime so how did PRIVATE information from her computer end up as evidence against her at the Hearing? Warman filed criminal charges against her as a,he, civilian and somehow Personal Private information on her hard drive in the evidence locker at the police station becomes evidence against her at a HRC tribunal hearing.

Jesus wept, under privacy laws surely this is illegal and if it isn't what's stopping the police from handing personal information about you and me or any private citizen in Canada to organized crime. If she committed no crime she did nothing wrong.

Someone needs to gain access to evidence logs to see where the chain of custody is broken and who accessed her private personal information and handed it over to a HRC's employee.

How many cases are there that appear this tainted?
