Church must decide which it serves: the state or God

Nigel Hannaford, Calgary Herald Published: Saturday, May 03, 2008

Politicians who love the Kingdom of God must deal with a tough question: Should they advocate cutting loose the church from its tax advantages? For its own protection, should donations to churches cease to be tax deductible? There is a case for it. A recent decision of the Ontario Human Rights Commission reminds us that he who pays the piper, calls the tune. If the OHRC's tune is to be widely echoed, it is not one churches can dance to, lest their message be compromised

The Rest.

Taxing worship and faith would be the first act of a totalitarian regime.

If ANY church is taxed, the rapacious secular state has just torn down the last barrier between separation of church and state. This is a declaration that the sate IS the church and its prevailing political orthodoxies are the new faith.

Charter section one’s presumption that the purpose of government is to truncate the fundamental natural God-given freedoms of Canadians when the state sees fit to do so, was Trudeau’s way, of telling us God is officially dead and he left a statist amoral elite in charge of us.

Remember the good ole days when Churches funded Homes for Unwed Mothers, detox centers, orphanges, soup kitchens, aided the sick and elderly. The list of good deeds by Christian Organizations is endless, however the leftards over the past decades have worked tirelessly to upsurp Organized Religion from providing the above services for free to replace Organized Religion with marxist branches of the government. The leftards have successfully had the government take over these programs and as a result we have welfare for a lifetime where women regularly give birth to mulitiple children without knowing who daddy is, we have drug addicts at record numbers living on the streets, we have government run food banks, the mentally ill shoved out of institutions because they were cruel (so the left stated) now the mentally ill get a disability cheque without the coping skills to take care of themselves. You get the picture, what use to be a free and efficient system is now run by bloated branches of the Prov. and Fed. governments. Instead of aiding those in need the "Social Programs" have been hyjacked by the leftards to provide them with cozy careers and pensions.

The leftards have created social programs not to aid those in need but to keep them in need ergo the marxist branches of the government can continue to grow and flourish on the misery of those in need.

The HRC's ruling will further the agenda of the Marxist, sadly it's those in need who shall suffer. A non-prophet Religious Organization will be replaced by a bloated UNION run program that will spend billions and yet they won't be able to provide the level of care those in need were getting from Christians.
