Newspaper cartoon a hate crime, Islamic group claims - Yea Yea we know boo frickin hoo!

CBC - Police in Halifax are investigating a complaint about a political cartoon that some members of a local Islamic group claim is a hate crime.

The cartoon, published April 18 in the Chronicle Herald newspaper, depicts a woman in a burka holding a sign that reads, "I want millions," and she says, "I can put it towards my husband's next training camp."

The cartoon by Bruce MacKinnon is a reference to Cheryfa MacAulay Jamal, a woman from Nova Scotia whose husband was arrested in 2006 in an anti-terrorism raid. Qayyum Abdul Jamal was released from jail after charges against him were stayed on April 15.

Zia Khan, director of the Centre for Islamic Development in Halifax, said the cartoon goes beyond what can be considered free speech.

The Rest.

"It only counts as free speech if we say it doesn't cross the line of acceptable free speech": once again some Muslims give truth to the cartoon image of their faith.

The batch in question stood before cameras laughing and bragging about how much money she was going to get from the government because her husband was so badly treated.

The cartoon was funny, is it just me or are the Political Islamist excellerating their global Caliphate?

Again, another infraction of Shari'a law. Somebody said we're not under Shari'a law?

There are no jokes in Islam, said Payatollah Profaney.

Don't know where else to post this :-(

I hate to write this; there may be another HRC complaint registered soon!

Marvelous Mark was on the Michael Coren Show on CTS with Tim Dennis. (Michael, somewhere near Zion, I think.) What I clear articulation that was!

Anyway, did you notice their coffee mugs with the CTS logo? At a certain camera-zoom, we both thought the logo image was -- guess what?

If you have the show taped, look at those coffee mugs again.

To us, at a certain camera zoom, the logo looked like a certain cartoon of a certain violent fellow who posthumously controls the strings of millions and millions of puppets.

I kid you not.

Then that was seen by a lot of people, that show has higher ratings than the National. Can you get a screen shot?

BCF: If you received it, you won't need to tell me how to post it here. If you didn't, some person will take it as spam I guess.

Oh for God's sake. They truly are pushing to see how far they can take it,, very scary times ahead.

LOL this woman stood before the media wearing a burka pontificating on how many millions she was going to make the Goberment pay her.

Mr. Mac does a cartoon depicting what she was wearing and what she articulated and this is deemed hatred by some moron who doesn't seem to grasp that we call it the Farking NEWS in Canada.

More Saudi Values being enforced on Canadians, Sharia Law needs to be deemed illegal and anyone caught enforcing or practicing it should have to be incarcerated in a Catholic jail for one year. If Muslims can shove their Islamic culture down my throat I should be able to do the same.

As for the shot of the coffee mugs, anybody can see them on the Michael Coren Show (via 5 feet of fury, if you like).

Thanks Noel!

You may have forgotten, but many Americans bitched and moaned over the The Last Temptation of Christ and the "Piss Christ" artwork. Same idea, same intolerance.

See The Muhammad Cartoons for more on the subject.

Yes agreed Rob people did become upset. In this instance however, no one is questioning her right to be upset, rather her HRC complaint.

3 things are happening here.

1) Running to a HRC because you are offended is not on.

2) While Christians may have been upset, no one filed a HRC complaint I am aware of, in fact Christians have been regular prey for the HRC's.

3) People see this as an extension of the MOtoons and another example of Islamist Lawfare.

I think the Muslim's have a point here however. The Herald says she was depicted verbatim in what she said. She was not and they did lie about what she said. The issue I believe is not about offending it is about lying and using freedom of speech defense to lie as the paper did. In Canada we have freedom of speech but I argue that we should not become liers in order to defend a position and this is what is happening. I thought we were better than this.

ROSE: She most certainly DID NOT articulate what the cartoon said she did. Are you also lying and saying she did. Do you lie about the truth to make a point. This is about the cartoonist saying she was using the money to fund terrorism. She did not say this and in Canada you are innocent until proven guilty....or ROSE would you like to bring back the witch hunts, the massacre of the indians or the hangings of the blacks in the southern states. Our history of Human Rights towards Indians, Blacks etc. in North America stinks but yet we take the position of the privileged so we can not even see it. When someone complains about a lie made against them we shake our self righteous finger at them. Our Motto is FREEDOM FOR US, NOT FOR THEM. LIES LIEs LIES.

If I want to lodge a complaint to the HRC for a libelous accusation which has slyly been defended by Dan Leger of the Chronicle Herald as 'verbatim' (though he didn't tell you he quoted me "I Want Millions" verbatim, not the bubble comment), that depicts my husband and I as terrorists, that is my right as a CANADIAN. And if I want to sue the Chronicle Herald for slander, that's mY right as a CANADIAN too.

This is MY COUNTY, and here in Canada, we CANADIANS have rights and protections. If you don't like it, I'm sure China would welcome your opinions.

There's a boat leaving soon, try sticking out your thumb.

Maybe YOU should move somewhere you won't be so easily offended, Cheryfa, where you might feel more at home...like anywhere in the Middle East.

Blazing Cat Fur said...

Well Cheryfa, if the comment is libelous as you contend then please sue them for Libel, a HRC is not a libel forum. You may also sue for slander, why not, but good luck with that cause it aint goin nowhere. You and Hubby are welcome to return to whatever armpit of a nation he crawled out of.

Ha ha, this is MY country, I'm here and my husband is here and my children are here, and thousands of other Muslims are here and Insha'Allah thousands more Muslims will come here and millions more Muslims will be born here you can't do a damn thing about it.

Insha'Allah I'll do whatever I want here, and I'll challange this country as much as I can challange it and I'll change it as much as I can change it, and no one can take that away from me but Allah.

Listen FlamingKafir! You and those like you just keep up your selfish 2.5 children and your genetically engineered dog, and see who is the Prime Minister 50 years from now.

I already have 7 children, working on number 8. Insha'Allah, I'll be having Muslim babies well into my 50's!

You do the math!
