Here's somethin you don't see everyday...B'nai Brith target of "Unfair Human Rights Commission Complaint" - wait for it - launched by Mohammedans
Winnipeg Free Press - Can't fight unfair complaint: B'nai Brith
The Jewish community's human rights organization says it is being unfairly targeted in a discrimination complaint that it can't possibly defend.
Legal counsel for B'nai Brith Canada said the organization has been dogged by a four-year-old complaint to the Manitoba Human Rights Commission where specifics of the alleged wrongdoing have not been spelled out and the complainant never witnessed the alleged incident.
Hmm, well I hate to say we told you so David Matas, but we did. HRC's are being abused as weapons to silence dissent, to silence political opinion and you & B'nai Brith should know this better than most. They have degenerated into the weapon of choice by anti-democratic elements bent on advancing illiberal values - sorta like the Nazi's did by taking advantage of similar laws enacted by the Weimar Republic.
Read the rest, guess David now knows a bit about how Ezra and the others feel, yet still they persist in supporting Section 13(1).

While his heart seems to be in the right place, David Matas should already know better having written on the UN Human Rights Commission as an "abuser's caucus" and a blind from which to attack Israel. More worryingly, Matas appears not to understand there are laws against incitement to violence independent of the drumhead courts he persists in defending.
"The mere fact that you've got a legal system that allows for a complaint which is maybe wrong doesn't in itself invalidate the system. If somebody tries to hit you with a chair, you don't blame the chair.David Matas argues that chairs don't abuse people.
But, David, people abuse people... with chairs.

I was so blown away when I saw the article in the National Post this morning, I nearly fell off my chair.
The thing I don't get is that this complaint has been going on for four years. Shouldn't this have been a wake-up call for B'nai Brith? (I guess this explains why they appeared to be a bit more rational than CJC and SWC.)
But still, Matas can obviously see that it's impossible to defend themselves against an HRC accusation, the absurdity of the complaint, and the frightening implications of this complaint. You can't #%$^ing have a seminar on counter-terrorism in this country? And they still support HRC's?
The inmates are truly running the asylum.

It makes all the sense in the world if you assume one thing: The original supporters of the HRCs, now compelled to suffer, hate you more than they love themselves.
So they will suffer as long as they think you are suffering more.
They are living examples of why spiritually mature people of all traditions advise us to rid ourselves of hatred.
Good point Denyse, how they persist despite being hit on the head repeatedly is beyond me.
'how they persist despite being hit on the head repeatedly is beyond me.'
not that hard to understand...
getting paid for what amounts to acting as a third grade hall monitor obvioulsy has its benefits...
more so if you can hide behind the smoke and mirrors of 21st century liberalism...
we should all be so lucky...
but then the rest of us live in the real world...
Section 13 was BB's and CJC's Golem
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem
...why are they in denial when their legislated Golem grew into an uncontrollable monster that came back to attack its creator? This HRC political parody of the Golem legend is too divinely coincidental to ignore.
.
Re: Golem. Damn, you beat me to it. Although your example is rather more spot on than mine was: just watched "The Hunt For Red October" for the 83rd time, and wondered if the line "You arrogant ass. You've killed *us*!" was appropriate (after a Russian sub sank itself with its own torpedo).
But Golems is better here...
The CJC and B'nai Brith are only now understaning what their appeasment of the CIC and abuse of the CHRC via 13.1 and "Lucy" is yet to deliver.
Sad.
That's the thing with blackmail: once you give in, the blackmailer will be back next week with another extortion.
Or, as to paraphrase an old joke, "we've already determined what you are, we're just negotiating the price..."
