Upperdate: The Blogburst worked, sorta;) Harper wins stronger minority!
Vote for freedom.
I am a free Canadian
I am a Canadian, a free Canadian, free to worship God in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and for all mankind.
-Prime Minister John G. Diefenbaker, from the House of Commons, Debates (on the Canadian Bill of Rights), July 1, 1960.
...
Our last best hope to end the perversion of Canada's thought crime law, Section 13(1), remains with a Conservative Majority. A vote for any other party is a vote for censorship and the continued abuse of the rule of law by the unelected demagogues of our rogue Canadian Human Rights Commission.
Nick Packwood & Kathy Shaidle got the ball rolling Trupeers helped;)
Update: Suzanne of Big Blue Wave reports - The blogburst was mentioned on Radio-Canada on their election coverage circa 7:15 pm. It was mentioned in a fairly straight-forward manner during a run-down on what was said on the blogosphere today. It said that our blogburst was a call to vote for free speech and our freedoms, but they didn't mention that it was in the context of the HRC controversy and the need for free speech.

yes, this is true, but because of the immigration policies of the liberals on then off then on again...and because they import the population of Alberta and BC into Ontario every four years...they manage to sew up their continued control of the country...and as we all know the majority of the masses do not read newspapers, but turn on the tv after work to get the news...and all the tv channels are completely spun in favor of liberals and totally against the west and anything smelling of conservative...I have been watching all channels here for three years now, just to do this type of survey...
It is a miracle with all the spin, thought control and really really wierd head space of people in this largest city of ontario...that there aren't more of the hrc...a liberal government will be the end of this country as we used to know it.
The one I love best, is the guy who used to be a top dog in ottawa for the liberals, now the head of a major poll corporation...and a spokes person tauted as objective strategist on the tv channels...I wonder how objective his comments are..about as factual as any of the bullshit news on all the stations...
I am saddened at the Conservatives abandonment of their base, but there may exist a faint hope that that the CHRC will be reined in assuming they receive a majority.
Great idea! I'm in.

Count me in too! I've had the Chief's words on the sidebar of my blog ever since I started it. But what the heck, I think it's a good day to repost them today!
You got it Kyoto!
Thanks for this round-up! You rock. :-)
Many thanks for this post!
It's a tremendous idea to recall the words of a true Canadian on the importance of freedom.
I had a look at the Bill of Rights (http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/ShowFullDoc/cs/C-12.3///en) and was struck by these words at the start of the preamble:
"The Parliament of Canada, affirming that the Canadian Nation is founded upon principles that acknowledge the supremacy of God, the dignity and worth of the human person and the position of the family in a society of free men and free institutions;..."
God and the family- two ideas under attack from the left these days.

I'm In..
Am I really free?
Am I really free if I've got to dig out 15 cm of global-warming before I can vote?
Good enough for a global-warming ball fight though.
I don't suppose it's too late to count me in, huh?
It's still the fourteenth where I am.
heh.
praying for you guys as I am for our country!!
Late, as usual...
