Is there anything Noam Chomsky won't sign?
The Canadian Arab Federation is touting the "success" of the Toronto Declaration. It's signatories, the obtuse Chomsky aside, a collection of D-List celebrities and never to be heard of again artistes of dubious repute.

A CELEBRATION OF SOLIDARITY: A Different Kind of Spotlight
The Toronto Declaration is unstoppable. Over 1,000 filmmakers, actors, writers and other cultural producers from around the world -- including Israel and Palestine -- have signed on to the statement objecting to the Toronto International Film Festival's celebratory spotlight on Tel Aviv.
New signatories include music and cinematic legends Harry Belafonte and Julie Christie. Actor Viggo Mortensen, who will be attending this year's festival, just added his name. Leading intellectual figures Noam Chomsky, Judith Butler and Anne McClintock have also recently endorsed the declaration, along with prominent Canadian writers Rawi Hage, Joy Kogawa, Dionne Brand and Kerri Sakamoto. Celebrated local filmmakers Velcrow Ripper, Min Sook Lee and Lynne Fernie have also signed the letter.
International support for the declaration continues to grow despite denunciations, unfounded personal attacks on earlier signatories Jane Fonda, Danny Glover, and Naomi Klein, and despite an aggressive campaign of misinformation regarding the letter’s content.

Can't quite figure out Noam Chomsky. Sometimes he does and says great stuff that makes perfect sense. Other times he has his head so far up his backside you wonder if he didn't buy his doctorate online.
Course maybe I'm just too dumb to appreciate the wisdom of American's leading public intellectual.
There are days that I believe he really is a CIA false flag operation.

So this person wakes up in the morning, brushes their teeth, then stares intently into the mirror, thinking to themselves, "People will take me seriously. My name is Velcrow Ripper."
But seriously, I was depressed to see that a former roommate has signed the declaration. Oh well - someone else I don't need to talk to again, I guess.
Well their loss Rick, a real one.
