Isn't it contrary to their religion to operate motorized vehicles?

Nope. Not the Hutterites. You may be thinking of the Old Order Amish. They are the ones who drive around in horse drawn buggies. The Hutterites take advantage of any technology that will improve their productivity, which, given their communal organization, is already very high.
