Rose - you're right. I watched the video again and indeed at 2:03-2:04, the man intentionally spits in her face. Freeze-frames of the video clearly show saliva ejecting from his mouth.

Considering his utterance beforehand, this guy could possibly be up for a hate crime.

The whole parade violated Canadian Criminal Code sections 318/319, but SpitterMan is a super candidate for 718.2(a)(i).

Under 718.2(a)(i), the courts may define the motivations of hate, bias or prejudice as aggravating factors when sentencing an offender for other offences, such as assault, damage to property, threatening, or harassment. The result is usually a more severe punishment.

Mr. Spit might indeed be facing some trouble here.

You know, the "self-defense" law in this country has been perverted into its present shape for the specific purpose of letting this guy get away with spitting at unarmed women smaller and weaker than himself.

Should you be lucky enough to find out who this thug is and launch a complaint, the authorities will start investigating... you. I suggest a dark alley on a rainy night if you want anything to come of it besides lawyers fees and personal bankruptcy.

Just remember, you DO NOT have any right to defend yourself from this behavior. Mr. TeamsterBoy is a member of a protected group, "demonstrating" on behalf of another protected group. Any interference in his activities will be dealt with promptly by police.

See, you have to remember where we are here. This is Canada. Shut up and keep your head down is the official policy of the government.

In a country where the sovereignty of the individual was considered important TeamsterBoy would be really, really afraid to do that. He'd be afraid because the smaller woman he just assaulted would be free to respond to his assault, as would anybody who happened to be nearby. In OUR country it is considered important for the individual to understand they do not have any sovereignty, and they had damn well better let Teamster Boy do whatever the hell he likes. Either join a protected group or stay the hell out of the road, you're holding up Progress.

Please see Dave Brown and Dana Chatwell for further elucidation of this policy. The Ontario government just settled with them, after discovering that despite having unlimited resources to fight the Brown and Chatwell lawsuit, they had NO CASE, were 100% guilty and even if they got a jury composed of oysters and houseplants they were still going to be found guilty.

Dave and Dana get their house bought out presumably at a reasonable price, they get an undisclosed but also presumably reasonable payout to keep them quiet, and the Crown admits no guilt or liability in the case.

I think that Dave and Dana did exactly the right thing here, they fought back and they won. The rest of us did not win, because the people who caused this debacle are still at large and still working for the Ontario government and the OPP.

Important to note, we have no goddamn business expecting Dave and Dana to do all the fighting. Maybe we should collectively step up to the plate and do something too. Like maybe voting the Liberals down in the next election. Just for starters, you know?

Then maybe get to work fixing 70 years of Liberal perversity in the justice system, so small women don't have to shut-up and take it when union pigs spit on them.
