It pains me, but the City of Calgary should take no action against this man.
City employees are entitled to whatever personal views they wish so long as they do not pretend to represent the City of Calgary while doing so, and sp long as they carry out their jobs in a professional manner.
And certainly I don't think the HRC's should be in the job of policing offensive blogs.
Whether this man has violated the criminal code is another matter, but that's for the justice system to work out, not the City of Calgary.
I am all for pointing, laughing and shunning the bugger...but he should keep his job so long as he can actually do it what with the pointing and shunning.
I'm inclined to agree Rabbit, I doubt they would or should have any jurisdiction. If he has committed a criminal act that may be another matter. I think the public scorn should be sufficient punishment.

The song figured prominently for the White Rose, a group opposed to Nazi rule in Germany and continues to be used by Germans opposed to internet censorship in the present.
I agree he should keep his job...unless he's carving swastikas into trees at local parks, OR he's been doing this stuff on the job. I think Name and Shame works pretty well in today's society.
City of Calgary employee?? Hehe. So any chance this guy was also joinging the crew at Glenmore Landing last year....
Hmmmm....
