Professor Ozlem Sensoy, a critical theorist who has decided who should have free speech and who must be censored

"There is a War being fought by Radical Islam against the Western liberal democracies. By the preposterous arguments of critical theory, your Professor Sensoy is with the enemy. At some point, preservation of our rights as a free people, demand that university administrators stand up to those who would deprive us of our historical freedoms. We are privileged to live in Canada. However, the propagation of inherently racist and Marxist teachings to those who will form our future educators is improper and is in no way respectful of “diversity”.

Because in the end, Sensoy is not about diversity; she is about control and power by the very sorts who are least likely to extend the goal of respecting diversity. "
....

Hear that Jennifer Lynch? You like Sensoy are the enemy.

Professor K. Magnussen nails it.

Interestingly, on Sensoy's own web site there are student comments which only EMPHASIZE what Magnussen says regarding her dogmatic approach (my way or the higway).

"I WOULD RECOMMEND THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT APPOINT SOMEONE WHO HAS TEACHING EXPERIENCE FOR A DESIGNS FOR LEARNING COURSE. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND THAT THE INSTRUCTOR NOT PUSH IDEAS ON STUDENTS."

PDP student, 2007

"Instructor has certain 'pet' topics/ideas - pushes them forward too much."

PDP student, 2008

"Dr. Sensoy is a great teacher, but can sound slightly arrogant at times."

Undergraduate student, 2009

"Dr. Sensoy was geared for an upper division class, she tried to incorporate massive words and didn't explain, [but] easy words like ‘curriculum’ she explained."

Undergraduate student, 2009

Check out this screed over at rabble/babble from two of the sixteen complainants at the University if Regina concerning the university's recent decision to join Project Hero: http://www.rabble.ca/news/2010/03/weve-been-attacked-views-we-don%E2%80%99t-hold.

So attacking Ann Coulter, calling her rude names and threatening her with harm in an effort to shout her down is fine and dandy, it is just an example of "student activism" at the University of Ottawa, but when these women become the butt of the same type of activism, it is unfair and undeserved. Go figure.
