A Queer About Face: Toronto Pride Parade Reverses Israeli Apartheid Ban
Talk about Switch Hitting!
Here's the "Queers Lacking Cognitive Function & Marching Blindly To Our Deaths At The Hands Of Islamists But It's Ok Cause We'd Rather Hate Jews" reaction to their "Victory"
Commentary on comments here
Narrative so strong that homosexuals march demanding their own deaths before the acceptance of a Jewish state

Okay, I'm lost now. So, will they be prancing about in their skivvies with their "End Israeli Apartheid" signs or not?
Time to start writing the City and event sponsors. Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas.
looks like they're batting for both teams :)
I think Flea is right start hitting the sponsors hard.
IF the jihadists wins Israeli Apartheid signs won't stop the wolf from eating them.
Here' some news dudes. Islam kills gays.
Man how stupid does one have to be, not to see this?
When the mad rule the sane flee.
This is 'f'd up'.
Sorry for the language - both the roughness and the syntax...
I just don't know what to do here to make these people realize they are flirting with self-destruction.
We SOOOO need to force school boards to introduce the teaching of 'logic' as a separate subject that stands on its own: it is WAY more important than, say, 'art' or 'music' (the way they are taught these days - not in principle). Instead, they lump 'logic' in as a tiny little tiny sub-set of mathematics (which, in itself, is offensive: mathematics is only one branch of logic) and most kids go through our education system without even the most rudimentary grasp of logic.
Really.
That is bad.
This is an example...
Wouldn't it be simpler to have a few mandated generic banner titles plus a letter designator?
Marxist Front Group "A"
Islamist Front Group "A"
Terrorist Supporters Group"A"
Useful Idiots Group"A"
Four given banners to march under plus the whole alphabet to run out in each category. The real nutters at the front would be able to get back to the start in time to march under two or three different "flags".
That makes such good sense Xanth and Simus.
Translation: We stood firm in a mushy, noncommittal sort of way just long enough to get the cheques from our sponsors. The cheques have cleared, so it's safe to backpedal, just like we did last year.
That sounds exactly right.
Great for free speech... but Pride's image will take a major hit this year.
Please explain the paradox of logic involved.
islam hangs gays, beats and covers women, promotes slavery, kills Apostates, excuses pedophilia, Queers don't even exist in Iran...
We as a society have tried to move past this sort of slavish adherence to ancient puritan code. islam has not allowed this sort of change ever.
What blows my mind and truly is the paradox is, how Queers can make common cause with an ideology that hates Queers so much, hanging is the specific punishment? It's insane.
One only needs to compare Israel's Charter with hamas's charter. Israel's Charter generally conforms with the rights we expect growing up with America. Hamas's charter is straight out of the qu'ran.
I don't understand how Queers can support the imposition of sharia onto non-muslims of any sort. I don't understand how Queers can be comfortable morally with forming a common cause with a societal system that is based completely on what muhammad would do.
www.youtube.com/watch
I'm sorry, but Israel doesn't put this on television...
When are moderate Queers going to speak out and point out the sheer hypocrisy?
Good Luck with the Parade. I'm sure it will be the most documented in history. I'll watch from youtube this year.

Can't wait for the responses there.
Write the sponsors.
There were only two until Pride agreed to ban the Queers Against Israeli Apartheid. Then once that happened about 20 sponsors appeared, thinking they wouldn't have to worry about the controversy.
Now that Pride has reversed themselves, the sponsors are going to be royally pissed, but they need to hear from as many people as possible!
Good work posting sponsor page, BCF!!
This isn't a free speech issue at all!
No one is saying they can't say, publish, write about, etc. their vile message, but the city has a right to say what it will or will not fund with tax dollars and sponsors don't have to subsidize it either.
They can say what they like, but the City should pull its support and it's completely within our rights to tell sponsors that we won't support a company that supports an event that includes hate groups
Pride Toronto (PT) has reversed its May board resolution banning the term "Israeli Apartheid" and will instead require all participants to sign and abide by the City of Toronto's non-discrimination policy.

And really, what will the consequences be if the policy is breached?
Zilch Zip Nada...
Ah, but the publicity will be spectacular. And the sponsors will be partners in the show.
Trust me, this isn't the kind of publicity a sponsor like Rogers or Winners wants.
I am not sure yet, forcing the responsibilty of a potential decision back into the City's hands may prove a clever tactic. But it may blow up completely, still thinking this through , lots of permutations.
I dare all you Toronto folk to put on your best threads and crash the parade with signs like "Jews against Queer Apartheid", "Jews against Hanging Queers"
I really don't understand this groups inclusion in the Pride Parade. Of all the countries they could denounce, they choose Israel? The one country in the middle east that has gay rights?
I've got some running updates on this going on over at my blog. It seems from the comments on the original news articles, that a lot of queers are completely against this. It's nice to see, that maybe there won't be a lemming mentality this year.
The city council is almost evenly divided on this, but a few that were leaning towards letting Pride do what they want may feel betrayed by this reversal that was supposed to relieve them of this issue and just vote against them.
All of the major mayoral candidates for the upcoming election in October have said they do not think QuAIA should be allowed to participate, so that might have some effect.
Rob Ford has already used this matter as a catalyst to declare he doesn't think the city should fund Pride regardless of what they do.
It's the sponsors' decision that's going to have the most effect. If they pull, Pride is in trouble. I assume there is no legal clause that would allow the sponsors to sue Pride over this, but given the degree of competence the Pride committee has shown so far, I wouldn't want to take bets on that either.
in any case, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Maybe they can get Libby Davies to come out of hiding and march with them.
Thanks Brock, interesting comments as you say.
I think someone I know is gonna go in a Burqa Tru;)
Voltaire this move may mean they are suicidal, the summoning of Libby Davies would prove it.
Just another day in opposite land...
It's my personal experience, hardly "scientific" but nevertheless empirical in its way, that most people assume that most people are much like themselves in intelligence, i.e that most people think most people are smart enough to cope in the world. But really, when we look at it, we see clearly that half of any population is of below average intelligence. Of the remaining 50 percent or so, a chunk of them will be perhaps smart but also insane. A larger chunk yet will have oceanic personality disorders. Why would we assume that just because a person speaks and has an opinion that he is intelligent, sane, or decent? We shouldn't do that. Most people are not smart and are not sane or pleasant or functional. So why would anyone just assume that the creatures of Queers for anti-Semitism are anyone we should have any time for? Other than theme, what makes them different from (?)-- pick your favourite disgusting example.
Many people are genuinely fucked-up, and it's only a lack of experience that leads others to assume that most people are OK, in a general sense. That's because most people know their friends well, but they don't know those they don't like. If we assume these "queers" are normal folks with different and even ugly opinions, it's because don't know them well enough to know how deeply fucked-up they truly are. We give unearned credit because we, perhaps with myself excepted, are decent people who aren't like those people in question above.
These "queers" are not normal and decent people with ugly opinions. Look at them, and listen to them; they are objectively what they are, and it's not normal or decent. You do not have to respect them, like them, or even tolerate them as human beings. Some people are just plain fucked-up. That's the way it is. It's not even too bad. It's just the facts, ma'am.
Oh, my, but they have made me mad now!
I have just sent this to the Bud Light folks and TD will be next. You know Yaacov is pissed when he talks about himself and the family...
I regret to say that I will no longer be enjoying your beer. I have been buying and enjoying your products, particularly Genesee and Genesee Cream Ale, for almost forty years. I am sick at heart to see that your Canadian company is a "Premier Sponsor" of an event that used to stand for tolerance and dignity and has now been hijacked and turned into a tool of extremists and hate mongers. I am speaking of the "Pride Toronto" event and it's board's decision to allow the expression of "Israeli Apartheid" as an acceptable message. Let alone that this is a concern that is entirely out side of the event's mission, it is actually proof that hating Jews and Israel is more important to some segment of the Toronto gay community than supporting gay pride or even gay survival.
This, after all, is a propaganda slogan designed to undermine the legitimacy of the only nation in the Middle East that does not have and actively enforce laws against homosexuality. Homosexuals are routinely beaten, stoned and hung in public squares in all of the countries that will be served best by the tainting of the only democratic, liberal, rule of law state in the entire region. In Israel, unlike its neighboring states, Muslims, Christians and Jews all share full citizenship, vote in free and fair elections and speak their minds in a legislative body which makes laws according to the desires of those voters. Any Israeli citizen may go anywhere in the country. In al Arab/Islamic countries, real Apartheid is the order. And they hate gay people so much they kill them - legally! So what other conclusion can be drawn from this action than there is some powerful faction- perhaps even a majority of people in this organization who are so blinded by Jew hatred that they will support their own enemies to hurt Jews.
Before my Jewish faith, I am the straight father of a son with whom I joined the Gay-Straight Alliance in his High School. And before that I was the nine-year-old brother of a young boy who at thirteen years of age, took his own life because he could not face the social stigma of growing up as a gay (in 1958) in America. On all of these scores and the simple grounds that the support of such an ugly and misshapen organization is offensive to my very humanity, I want you to kow that unless you withdraw your support from this event or use your financial power to correct this error, I will no longer be your customer. And you can count on me to spread this news and advocate for a boycott of your products.
And my beer...
My after-thought of the day:
In Israel homosexuals are hung.
In Islam they're hanged.
I don't know that I want any credit for that slogan. Maybe just send me a cheque on the sly.
Great Letter Yaacov and Great slogan Dag!
I should have known something was up. I went to the G20 Queer Callout protest on Tuesday and I saw three men with Queers Against Israel Apartheid shirts on. I also saw another shirt in support of Palestine as well with a queer message on the front. I didn't think much of it at the time. I think I should take the pictures, blow them up and make a post of them as well later on. Only learned about this story this morning on the CP24 news scroll.
CTV is a sponsor? Good gawd that could explains why the Media never reports the ugly side of the pro-Hamas hatefest rallies?
Uh, Blaze, since I'm still trying to get a date, how about I sign my slogan as written by "Anonymous Dag" so the ladies won't know I came up with it. Might help my chances in the dating world.
I mean, it can hardly get worse. Unless they find out I came up with that slogan.
Your secret admirer, Dag.
Doh!
Okay I sent off an email to TD, Labatts, Winners. Rogers only wants contact if you have an account number - which I don't.
CTV is a sponsor so we're not likely to see or hear anything about this insanity just a news clip about the 'family atmosphere' and festivities.
Canada: Rotting from the inside and at an accelerating rate as you near Toronto.
So far TD seems to be sending the same form letter to everybody
