Such fauxtilla flotsam begs a little jetsam company. Say small pointed cylindrically shaped projectiles. Let's see now -- about 50 grams (~ 1/10th of a pound) travelling at around 3000 feet/second. Depleted uranium would be a good choice of material but depleted NDP cranium would be sufficient.
Actually, it's relatively easy to modify certain jetsam launchers to achieve greater velocities but 1/2 inch steel plate should be a good enough target for the calculations.
