The Natty Post has taken a hard left lately, decriminalization of the census bad real bad but it's good that the feds are going to deal with the systematic racist policies of it's agencies.
Affirmative racism is bad policy even by communist standards.
Politician whoring for votes BCF? Surely not.
I believe this reckless defamation of our public servants could be actionable.....at least by using the black market pseudo justice route.

All The Fish - one thing I couldn't help but note was that women are considered an "underrepresented group." In what world? In every job I've worked since I was a teenager women have been in either a slight or major majority. The blanket assumption that women are marginalized in every white collar or bureaucratic workplace is a prime example of the crude, thickheaded ethos that guides affirmative action.

As women were still considered underrepresented in managerial positions, they were still listed as a group for voluntary identification purposes.

Affirmative action was just the Liberals way of getting rid of Christians in Government with the added benefit of bestowing favored jobs to block voters. Since when did we need them? We never had slavery. This is a phony issue here.
8 out of 10 times. An affirmative action hire is so useless, they can't hold a fork to eat.
They stay clueless while being treated like pets. Work is for the lesser little people. That is the general feel you get when you are forced to work with folks who have no skills nor ambition. Let alone a work ethic.
Everyone else has to pick up the slack for them.

The last census was 2006 so that would make the next one around May 2011. I believe they come around every five years.
I've never had the pleasure of filling out the long form. Seems to me, though, that there must be enough data stored in all the various ministries' computers to satisfy every need. All they need is a program to mine it all according to whatever query one might have.
And, IMHO, the affirmative action thingy has been around long enough to have it's desired effect. Most immigrants end up starting their own businesses and whatnot anyway. That's the primary reason they come here, isn't it? To take advantage of the opportunities that exist for anyone with a good idea and the drive to see it to fruition.
I'm pretty sure working for government wasn't a motivating factor for most of them. Unless, of course, they felt they owed something to the Liberal Party of Canada.

I work in a profession that is heavily dominated by women. For my first job in said profession I was asked by the interviewers if I wanted to be considered for the affirmative action leg up.
I told them that in this profession I considered men to be the folks that needed that sort of special privilege. My soon to be boss, a man, looked at me with a smile and said "thanks".
I wasn't attempting to brownnose. I was quite sincere, but it might have been the thing that got me the job.
