The Toronto Star: Rob Ford Not The Anti-Christ...But He May Be A Tea Party Nazi!
Rob Ford may cause WW III says Toronto Star!
First up Thomas Walkom - "Rob Ford is not the Anti-Christ. He’s just a right-winger from Etobicoke who wants to be Toronto mayor. His critics should get a grip."
Not a bad piece so far as the Star goes...
However it's back to typical Star form with James Travers, National Affairs Lunatic, invoking both the Tea Party and Nazis to characterize Ford and get the "Scare" across:
"For decades politicians have freely played voters for fools. Now the bill is coming due as Tea Party anger seeps out of the U.S. and into elections from Toronto to Stockholm.
Rob Ford’s commanding lead in the contest to control Canada’s largest city is far from the most extreme example. National elections in sensible, socialist Sweden shifted the balance of power this week to a fringe party tainted by a neo-Nazi history and policies smacking of racism.
Sudden swings that sweep away the status quo are nothing new. But as World War II reminds, the results are often catastrophic. Hopefully no similar horror lurks in our future. Even so, a phenomenon blooming darkly in so many places requires some inquisitive digging around its roots."
...
Get a grip indeed.
Update: Oh Brother - Star Attacks Rob Ford's van, meanwhile the Rossi Campaign vehicle has an Obama 08 Sticker, which says everything you need to know.

Travers, Mallick, Siddiqui -- man, the Star can really pick 'em.
Weasel words from Travesty: "Now the bill is coming due as Tea Party anger seeps out of the U.S. and into elections from Toronto to Stockholm."
EXCUSE ME, Mr. Librano-**it-for-brains. I think for myself, thanks very much, and don't need any "Tea Party anger seep[ing] out of the U.S." to stoke my contempt for and anger about how my city's become a cesspool under Moron Miller's Multiculturalism and his union goons and thugs.
I'm not sure what's addling Mr. Travesty's skull cavity, but the guy can't think straight. Add to that his animus towards all things c/Conservative, and he's only fit to write for the TorStar. You expect this kind of crap whenever you open that rag.
Travers would fit right in on Babble BatB.
The Star really has assembled a stellar cast, I'm surprised they haven't lured Salutin from the Globe.
Snap!
I saw Walkom's piece and had the same reaction, "Is this The Star? Is someone else writing Walkon's column for him today?" and promptly wrote a post on it.
Then I saw Travers was in regular form, and had to go back and update my post.
Should've realized it was too good to be true.
And of course they had to attack his campaign Van.
