I am anti-Quebec and anti-France for various reasons. And I am a student of WWII and the rot in France at the time (and today the riots there point to more rot).
But I think the anti-Islamism policies being discussed in Quebec and France far out-distance anything we have considered in the Anglosphere. We could learn sometrhing from the French in this area.
BCF: I am angry too at the LCC, and I will be sending in complaints today.
One final point: the sacking of Juan Williams in the US, by NPR, is backfiring. We can only hope that the conservative right in Canada can make this fascistic act, by the LCC, into a victory. Perhaps more people will come to the larger venue. We all should respond angrily to this outrage.
The National Post gave this outrage some space this morning (Friday morning) to this anti-free speech act. It will be interesting to see if the Islamist-sympathetic MSM give it any coverage.
Btw: Mark Steyn is Jewish -- an obvious point -- so I will be accusing the LCC of anti-Semitism. Is there any anti-Semitic background to the Muslim group who complained?

There was also no influence from any outside groups on any business decisions surrounding this event. The Convention Centre simple never got to the stage of discussing a contract with the organizers.
