I am not sure if you read all the comments under the Globe and Mail news about the cancellation (I saw your comment there), but there were so many anti-Semitic and anti-Christian comments trying to justify that imam's entitlement to making his speech.
At the same time, there was also a leading story about multiculturalism. The comments of that article were overwhelmingly negative, very few people thought that murlticulturalisma had any merit.
Now, from a simple logical point of view, it seems that people who oppose multiculturalism would be able to see the flaws of the CIC ideological position. However, they don't see anything. I find our society to be extremely schizophrenical.

Well a few individuals did, they played a far greater role than I. Our readers who complained to the politico's etc all deserve credit as well. As bloggers we just got the fun of publicising it all.
I saw the comments at that multicult article and the the pieces on the CIC thing, I think the schizophrenia you refer to only exists among the pseudo-left apologists who will forgive anything done by Islamists no matter how egregious but damn anything Christian or Jewish for that matter. It's a perverse Orientalism at work, similar to the "soft racism of low expectations".
Just watched CTV National newscast on this with Roger Smith and Craig Oliver both waxing sympathetic to Delic and critical of McKay and the Tories. Will these CTV mutts ever get their heads out of their asses? Not likely.
Blog Wrath: the anti-Jewish and anti-Christian posts on the Globe and Mail are to be expected. Both represent important readership constituencies for the Globe. This is why the vast majority of editorial opinion and news articles at the paper tilt against Jews and favour Muslims.
JR: CTV News generaly favours Islamism, and editorializes against Jews and democratic thinking. Craig Oliver and Roger Smith are "liberals" -- so they support Islamist terrorism and their supporters like the CIC. Both CTV and CBC News ran pro-CIC pieces in Saturday night's programs -- given that both news shows favour anti-Semitic organisations.

Off topic: the anti-Jewish CTV News (right after its pro-CIC news item) ran a very symathetic piece on George Galloway's arrival in Toronto. Does anyone know if there is going to be any pro-Jewish protests against this anti-Semite?
Some visible street demos would prove useful, since the anti-Semitic MSM support Galloway.

Geez, I haven't watched CTV news in a very long time (I used to watch CBC news a little more cuz Carol had a nice set of jugs; which is no longer the case ever since she married one of the producers of "Muslim Barbie's House on The Prairie); but I did notice Oliver spouting off like an old coot (didn't even know he was still alive he's been covering the Ottawa beat at least since Confederation), ragging-on about how it was all a Christian conspiracy which was reinforced by a video of Delic shill that it was a Jew vote getter tactic by the Conservatives. (aka, Muslims are getting screwed by Jews once again. And ergo the duly elected government is corrupt, bad and evil.)
I think Delic has learned a thing or two from Aberdaberjeeberdan about using Prosac before being interviewed cuz it doesn't make you sound like a total rage-O-holic.
... but back to the point, the last time I watched CTV news, they were NOT so flagrantly propagandistic and Jew-baiting.
