There appear to be a number of 'analysts' touting the idea of the Brotherhood as a moderate social reformation group. This idea seems to owe its prevalence to former CIA staffers whose analytic abilities were eventually determined to be substantially substandard, and grounds for early retirement.

Now that the protests are hitting there peak I think things are sure to move quickly. Soon this scenario will play out here on the streets of America. There are forces at work trying to usher in the last days, Revelations, the Apocalypse... call it the Illuminati, the New World Order, or whatever you want... it is coming... hell it is already here! So true, Egypt has 83 Million people and only a few thousand are protesting with the majority of them being students, according to numerous video clips depicting the protests. I am with others who state that this whole shin dig was orchestrated by the Muslim Brotherhood. It does not make sense that the citizens want freedom yet are willing to submit to Sharia Law, but isn't this exactly what happened in the states - the hatred for Bush stoked and stoked to the point where the citizens were willing to elect a president based on the degree of anti-Bushism hatred that was spewed and look what happened - they voted in (perhaps through fraudulent means as some assert) Obama - the US was willing to give away their freedom just to seek a regime change that was backed by students and possibly Muslim backed money.
Pray for Israel.

The Islamists coming to power in Egypt seems pretty inevitable. No point talking as if Obama could stop it. There will be no invasion; why dream. He might delay it at best by encouraging the military. On the other hand, he shouldn't just welcome the MB. If he really cared about the West he would start framing their coming to power in a way that sets up the basis for our strategy in the conflict to come. We don't need to get all outraged, like GatesOV, assuming that Obama & Co. actually think the MB is going to be non-violent and democratic and uphold the rule of law. But that's exactly what we should insist the MB now swear to uphold, as a basis for an "orderly transfer of power", because that's the basis on which we are going to have to ally with the minority in Egypt against the Islamists in the struggle to come. I doubt there is much leverage left in a call to restore the Mubaraks. One can whine about betraying our allies, but the toppling of such big men is inevitable, sooner or later.
What we should see, however, is that Obama will fail to frame this change in a way that focusses our strategy for the fight to come. Because what this fight will entail is the discrediting of the Western left and every fantasy Obama has projected. Still, when we criticize him, we should have some such strategy in mind and not just bemoan the loss of the relative peace that Mubarak kept. Many predicted this day would come; we should have been better prepared to accept the new fight because Islamism is clearly the normal response of Muslim societies facing modernity. Now they have to begin learning how limited are the possibilities that come with that choice and how self-destructive, that Muslims are really forced to decide what they want. Want to go to war with Israel? Well, forget about any more food shipments from the granaries of the West: they need to see such choices and become more responsible for their own lives and deaths in ways they aren't yet.
I'm sure Obama doesn't see this Muslim Brotherhood thing as a problem. No doubt he sees it as an opportunity to increase his power in the USA, by clamping down with Homeland Security on all things Tea Party.
Thing to remember about Obama and company is they don't give a flying fiddler's fuck about American interests abroad. They're trying to CRUSH America and make it into a nice coercive People's Republic of Obamastan.
Its not a crisis, its an opportunity.
Israel would do well to mobilize all their shit and get busy going to 100% war footing. They can probably win another Six Day war if they change their rules of engagement from the present "super careful" mode to "Fuck 'em!"

The problem is you seem to be assuming the Muslims can make rational decisions. But most of them can't because they have been brainwashed from birth into the Death Cult. With their mothers' milk they learn that non-Muslims are evil and can never be trusted, that there are evil jins out to get them, etc.
This is why they come up with so many crazy ideas such the vulture Mossad agent, and so forth. (Either that or it's the inbreeding)
If the Muslim Brotherhood is preparing for war with Israel, they should prepare to lose the Sinai.
Its what Ive been saying for a while. Expect Egypt's ass to be kicked along with its nefarious allies.
Time the Sinai peninsula was back in Israeli hands again . It could use the oil. They should never have surrendered it in the first place, or Gaza for that matter. If Obama turned on another ally this fast I figure the Israelis know not to trust Obama's America. Few do anymore.
