Does the "B" in CBC Stand For Bias?

"...Anybody who's been reading this blog for a while, knows I'm actually quite fond of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. I don't agree with everything his party stands for and have issues with some of what he's selling. But overall, he doesn't annoy or flat out piss me off as much as the other guys.

So you can imagine my surprise after taking CBC's much vaunted and constantly hyped "Vote Compass" online test that I'm actually a Liberal supporter leaning heavily toward the NDP..."

dugger  – (2:05 PM)

Well, I took the "test" and I am a dyed in the wool Progressive Conservative type. WAAAAY over there it seems. My LEAST favourite party is the NDP. And I always thought I couldn't stand Mikey.

Woke up this morning and there was a burning cross on my lawn. I guess the NDP is campaigning in my neighbourhood.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (2:21 PM)

I think Legions post offers the best explanation of how the survey bleeds response in favour of the Libs.

I live in Iggy's riding, crosses are banned.

PaladinPhil  – (2:34 PM)

Well I took the Compass survey. I am further to the right then Harper. Of course, I can be very out spoken on a number of topics.

scaramouche  – (2:36 PM)

I must be really right-wing--I came out Conservative: http://scaramouchee.blogspot.com/2011/03/test-your-vote-compass.html

Blazing Cat Fur  – (2:44 PM)

I am like Olivia Chow who knew!

Paul  – (3:00 PM)

... paid-for by your generous tax dollars to the CBC ; - the official Propaganda Manufacturing Media Partner of the Liberal Party of Canada.

NB: there are stories all over the place about this little bit of software they've got running, is the same program code that they use in online slot machines.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (3:04 PM)

I wonder if the designers were technically able to design software without built in bias.

Paul  – (3:22 PM)

... I'm sure one can. (online behavioral tests are fairly accurate, for instance.)

If I was trying to be kind about it, I would say it's typical of the lame-brained no-talent "staffers" at the CBC imagining a Porsche, but only willing to spend 99 cents.

... but I don't think that's the case cuz when it comes to the Liberal agenda, the M.O. is all hands on deck and spare no expense .

[NB: the software they're using is just plain rigged to throw out Liberal 85 out of 100 times, regardless of what you put in.]

OT but funny.

OT; interesting picture of Muslamics doing their thing on NP
[...as if anyone needed more proof Muslims are mentally retarded.]

Blazing Cat Fur  – (4:44 PM)

That's hilarious Sanwin, I see the NDP has announced a new candidate or rather their intent to run one.

Don Sharpe  – (4:52 PM)

Your in-depth analysis of the Tories is hilarious! I took the test, carefully contemplating each question . . ... ok, it was a drinking game - every time you picked 'strongly' anything you take a drink - turns out we're both drunk conservatives.

sanwin  – (5:13 PM)

More fun and games !

Our Media except for a few bright exceptions has been completely comprimised.
Goebbels would be proud.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (5:57 PM)

Cheezus it's like a virus Sanwin, rats leavin the sinking Liberal ship.

marc in calgary  – (6:10 PM)

I'm not amused.

I chose the responses most like me, and it lumped me in with the Conservatives even though I'm just barely able to speak to those folks.

dmurrell  – (6:19 PM)

Sanwin:
Thanks for the link. But today's G&M paper edition completely censored the story of a Liberal candidate switching to the Tories.

Today's (Wednesday's) edition in the Globe is complete, unremitting pro-Liberal propaganda. The Globe is running flat out as a Liberal propaganda sheet.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (6:19 PM)

We had the usual fund raising call, reminded them about Section 13 (1).

Osumashi Kinyobe  – (6:35 PM)

The B stands for bull-

You know, it doesn't matter.

I took the test out of curiosity and ended up on the conservative side of things. It's a silly test, really. It's not surprising that the CBC sides with the Liberals.

Rose  – (7:09 PM)

I mentioned the rigged survey to hubby and his response was priceless: Take them to the Ontario HRC and the Federal HRC for offending you. I mean CBC goes out of it's way to deny Conservatives a venue to espouse their view points, we aren't represented by any CBC staff members or news shows thus they've become an exclusive club for leftwingers that deny's Conservatives a diverse voice at CBC. That's got to violate the CBC's mandate as well as break numerous HRC rules right?

Thank God for Israel..

Jordan wants them back.. gee, muslims in possession of non-muslim ancient relics are such reliable safekeepers..

“Domestic radicalization associated with al-Qaeda-related extremist ideology remains a particular concern to us and to law enforcement and security agencies in Canada,” RCMP Inspector Keith Finn told reporters.

Keith Finn is an idiot...

he should be fired for gross incompetence for not being informed about islam..

Canadians will be killed by non-Canadian (because they can't be anything other than just muslim) muslims... and these jack asses wont see it coming because they have been trained to be blind..

my favorite question to ask a muslim who is 'peaceful': why bother being muslim?

James  – (11:05 PM)

I scored conservative...but I'm a flaming political anti statist libertarian.

Clem  – (3:07 AM)

Just took the test, actually reading the questions and answering as I felt. I'm no liberal, my mark came in below-right of the CON icon (Conservative Party, I think.)

Blindly clicking straight through to one side, or the other, wouldn't consistently represent a cogent response in this poll.

Blazing Cat Fur  – (7:08 AM)

I am not sure who pays atention to CBC anymore.

rick mcginnis  – (7:33 AM)

Van Grungy - you should know by now that there's no place in the official Canadian political and ideological pantheon(TM) for libertarians. I think it's actually against the law in most provinces.

Pieface  – (12:52 PM)

After having read this, I too took the plunge and went for the CBC's analysis of my political identification. It labelled me least appreciative of the NDP, and likely to support the Liberals. All I can say about that is ARGHH!

Blazing Cat Fur  – (1:19 PM)

And the CBC still stands behind this waste of our money.
