Dennis Prager: They Have Islamist Fanatics, We Have Secularist Fanatics
"The Muslim world is threatened by religious fanaticism. The Western world is threatened by secular fanaticism.
Both seek to dominate society and to use state power to do so. Both seek to eliminate the Other -- for Islamic fanatics, that means non-Muslim religions and secularism; for secular fanatics, it means Christianity and virtually any public invoking of God. The Islamists impose Sharia law; the American Civil Liberties Union and the left generally impose secular law. The Taliban wiped out public vestiges of Buddhism in Afghanistan; the ACLU and its allies seek to wipe out public vestiges of Christianity in America -- as it did, for example, in Los Angeles County, when it successfully pressured the County Board of Supervisors to remove the tiny cross from the county seal. A city and county founded by Catholics -- hence the name "The Angels" -- was forced to stop commemorating its founders because they were religious."
Fortunately, our secularist fanatics haven't started beheading anyone or strapping explosives to their bodies

The West has both the Islamists and the Atheists.
Thankfully God loved us so much .. and its in jesus hands and time... just saying
I don't think it's likely. The secularists can't reward anyone with 72 virgins in the afterlife.
What I'd like to see is the secularists be as serious about Islam as they are about Christianity.

If you oppose sharia law and you oppose secular law, then what kind of law do you support? Christian law, perhaps? If that is indeed the case, then the only difference between you and the Islamists is that you want to base your theocracy on a slightly different holy book.
Secular law is not atheistic law. Secular law is law that privileges no particular religious morality, and instead appeals to universal human values such as justice and compassion. If you truly oppose the Islamic fanatics, then you should be fighting with us secularists.
How true . Its why the West leftists, & Islam are such chums.

Justice and compassion are not particularly universal values. If they were we would probably see more of them. Most of the values that secularists hold, I believe, are christian values. Islam tells its followers to lie cheat rob and kill anyone who is not a moslim. In Europe before christianity human sacrifice was common and killing anyone who deserved it was acceptable. I say screw secular values. "Diversity", "tolerance", "equality" are secular values. Tolerating the intolerable is not a virtue, and diversity hasn't done me any good. I would just as soon go back to the viking age values of not tolerating strangers and killing people who deserve it.
I know I must sound like a broken record on this, but while I agree with Prager I suggest that rather than the label secularist fanatics it would be more appropriate to call them what they are. They are fascists or collectivists if you prefer and indeed they share with the Islamists a hatred for western liberal democracies. They both reject the concept of individual freedom, freedom of belief and speech, freedom of association and private property rights. The reason for attacking all expressions of Christianity in public is due to their hatred for anything symbolic of western culture. They remain blinded by their hatred of western culture to the point of failing to understand that under Islam they will be exterminated.
