Mark Steyn: Sorry, Newt. Only the debt ceiling will reach the moon
"I gather that Americans prefer something a little more upbeat, so one would not begrudge a speechwriter fluffing it up by holding out at least the possibility of some change of fortune, however remote. Instead, President Obama assured us at great length that nothing is going to change, not now, not never. Indeed the Union's state – its unprecedented world-record brokeness – was not even mentioned."
who would you choose to lead.. a person with character or a person with skill ... this is something voters of the past 3 plus years must take into consideration. we know how charisma kept skill from the light of day.. Newt has skeletons yes.are they grave?. I see his skills as more important.. his stand against Muslim brotherhood his stand with Isreal. especially after the world has seen Obama and his undeniable slight to BiBi and his support for the entire east spring. Santorum doesnt have the backing , he is brillant and is likely the better in his conservative beliefs. Mitt is Obama as told by Soros. and Obama will beat him. Ron paul... no thankyou
..
as for Tebow .. the MSM is totaly anti christian anti conservative, so of course he is a target for them. as to his toneing it down.. I say no way, dont be luke warm .
This is one tough primary.
One of the best commentaries I read on the Tebow affair was written by a fellow Christian and football player who is black. He said he found it interesting that neither he nor other black Christian football players are attacked for displaying their faith, but as soon as a white Christians do the same, liberals immediately squawk. Thus he wondered if in addition to religion, race was a factor in the liberal persecution of Tebow.
As far as the current Republican primaries, what does the Republican establishment expect vis-a-vis Mitt not going over well with the conservative base? Mormonism - particularly Brighamite Mormonism - is the branch of Christianity that most closely resembles Islam. The neo-con establishment cannot repeatedly beat the war drum in the Middle East to provoke evangelical fervor, while running a candidate domestically who provokes similar comparisons.
