Multiculturalism exposed as a sham
So, is “multiculturalism” dead now?
This is a question that might have come to anyone’s mind, while reading through news reports and commentary on the Shafia “honour killings.” And I don’t just mean after the verdict was announced on Sunday, but from the beginning of the Kingston trial. For the indulgence of “multiculturalism” went right out the first window, on Day One.
David Warren
Look Mummy, it's cultural relativism
For the indulgence of “multiculturalism” went right out the first window, on Day One
Sorry Warren but thats exactly what should have been done. Calling for the devil to crap on your daughters plus 2nd wifes graves, while musing that if they came back to life hacking them to pieces would be your pleasure no matter how many times they came alive. Because in your mind their tainted. Just doesn't cut it for giving them the benefit of the doubt for being from Afghanistan. WE have rules on how to try HUMAN beings laid over centuries that cover all strata of human life. Not making special condescension to cultural icons. They have done us mostly good . Being HUMAN we make mistakes.
Trying people especially on points of culture like Natives, does not work, never will.
That we are a confused culturally ourselves does not lesson the heinousness of this crime. Nor the fact of what was done. IN any time in any era this would have been horrifying.
I'm frankly shocked Mr Warren would be using the Multicultural defense of the indefensible to lesson the oder of this hideous killing.
Is he now enamored of the Islam as well? Making excuse for the way a trail was conducted purely out of cultural sensibilities?
David's point is directed more at mainstream folks who've allowed themselves to be fed the multicult crap - those who read this blog and other like it have solid ideas of what Canadian cultural identity is, and also what it's not.
It takes a tragedy like the Shafia honor killing homicides to wake up regular Canadians who are decent, loving people - and who are today looking more deeply into what they may have lost, and why.
I disagree strongly with David's view of the 'Calgary imam' who's been threatened - Syed has many, many public apologies to make before I'll ever believe that all the words coming out of his mouth serve only himself, sharia and a caliphate nightmare
Look away Tommy!
I am not reading that in David's Column Rev, it is in fact a denunciation of Multicult and simply used the defense case to illustrate his point.
Maybe I, m being over sensitive & reading into his statements the lefts new take on this trail. Trying to absolve the Cultural evil of Honor killing in cultural terms. That culture trumps criminality, or absorbs its evil tinge.
He was a touch to subtle in making his point about the sham of multicult.
Mr. Warren seems to think that we are too confused about the statusof our own culture in the world to be able to discern that there are other cultures that are, relatively speaking, piles of crap.
Yup. Citing the fire-breathing imam of Calgary as someone being threatened by "Islamists" is especially inverted. Syed wants the victimization that headlines give him and he did it this time to divert attention from a "good" Muslim acting against those who "betrayed Islam."
Islam creates Muslims.
Islam creates conflict.
Its dead alright, when can we start shipping them back?
MC is a smoke screen for mono-culture. The culture of islam does not want any other culture in it's vicinity, so importing muslims always leads to mono-culture.
