Right wing nazis is an oxymoron and anybody using that phrase is just proving their ignorance of political parties and orientations. The anacronym of the of the German spelling for "National Socialist Workers Party" is NAZI. Yes people Hitler and the Nazis were socialists. That is not exactly what you learned in school or popular media is it? The idea of the German government painting any group as a terrorist is the pot calling the kettle black as 20th century history has proven.

The idea of left and right has it's roots in the French revolution, I believe.  I don't believe that there is an agreed-upon definition of either side.  Traditionally Left has been associated with socialism, and Right with fascism.  The Nazi's were more production-oriented, thus fascists,  compared with Stalin's communists, who were (outwardly) more concerned with wealth re-distribution.  Both are authoritarian, if not totalitarian, in their worst implantation.
I think Left and Right is a successful application of the old 'divide and conquer' axiom.  The real fight is elsewhere, totalitarian v/s libertarian, despite the connotations that modern-day libertarians have weighed the word with.
