Human rights commission to investigate prayer complaint

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission will investigate a complaint against the City of Saskatoon and a city councillor. Saskatoon resident Ashu Solo launched the complaint last year over a prayer offered by Coun. Randy Donauer during a volunteer appreciation banquet held in April 2012.

At the time, Solo said he was “extremely offended by the inclusion of a Christian prayer, which makes non-Christians feel like second-class citizens.”
